Calendar of Chamber Meetings & Other Local EventsChamber MeetingsThe CLCC meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, except for July and August when we break for the summer. Meetings are hosted by our member businesses. All community members and owners of businesses operating in the Coloma-Lotus area are welcome to attend.We have no separate Board of Directors meetings, so all non-committee business is handled in these meetings. Typically they last around two hours. Refreshments are provided by the hosting business so an RSVP is appreciated. It features Americana, Folk and Blues music performances and workshops on a riverfront main stage, in three riverfront campgrounds, on our famous "gorge" whitewater river trip, and on our spectacular guided riverfront hike. This three-day mostly acoustic American and Canadian Roots music festival takes place at Henningsen-Lotus Park in Lotus, and at several Coloma Valley campgrounds. Celebrate the 200th birthday of James Marshall with the rededication of Marshall's Monument. The Native Sons of the Golden West will present a ceremony and start the fundraising effort for the restoration of the first historic monument in California, in Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Step back in time and experience the California Gold Rush. Live history tent encampments recreate Gold Rush history in this authentic setting. Attend talks about the gold discovery and Sutter's Mill. Visitors will enjoy live music, historic trade demonstrations and a merchants market. There will be gold panning contests for kids and adults as well as sawmill demonstrations and historic re-enactments so you can feel as if you are rubbing shoulders with the adventurers and historical figures who helped create the world-wide rush to California.
