New officers need help with access to colomalotus.com website by service provider, Donna McMaster of Coloma Communications.
Betty Sederquist and Judy Huestis have completed mailing and hand distribution of membership renewal packets. Early bird renewal date has been changed from Jauary 15 to Janaury 25. Discussions at last two meetings regarding reciprocal memberships, non-paying renewing members, non-responding members and rates for board members were reviewed. Janice and Spencer have volunteered to be on membership committee.
Highway 49 Beautification Project:
Kary Danielson gave a status report at the December meeting on his talks with Cal Trans regarding restoration plantings along Highway 49. The suggestion was made then that that the chamber consider spending allocated funds on just gateway signs instead of a roadside planting project. Janice Stanley reported that large painted hardwood signs could be manufactured and shipped from Indonesia at a fraction of the cost of local sources.
We have $4000 allocated to website updates and maintenance. Janice Stanley commented that local business revenue is way down and desperately needs a boost. She suggested publishing a marketing DVD on the Coloma valley. Current marketing committee members are Marjorie Sanborn, Betty Sederquist, and Howard Penn.
